Greetings! We hope everyone is safe and well. Thank you all for continuing to stay with us while we have worked to overcome hurdles at every step in our supply chain. We sincerely appreciate your support this year. Get ready for those shipping notifications to reach your inbox over the next two to six weeks!

Just as a reminder, we have two distribution warehouses for this campaign. The distribution warehouse we use depends on the items in your reward, not your shipping address. Certain items are only stocked at our main California distribution center. Your reward must come from the warehouse where we have the inventory available for you. If your reward contains one of the following items, it will be shipping from California. If so, you can scroll past the part of this update about the Hong Kong shipping center as it will not apply to you.

  • Any past Xeric models (Invertor, Soloscope RQ or SQ, Halograph II, Evergraph, Trappist-1 Moonphase, Halograph Chrono, Atlasphere Auto or GMT, Decypher, Cypher)
  • Some add-on straps (Rally strap, Racing strap, Italian Suede strap, Herringbone strap, Croc Embossed strap, original Halograph Smooth Leather straps, 5-link stainless steel bracelet, and the gunmetal-color mesh strap)
  • Travel cases
  • 12- or 6-unit Wooden Collectors cases (automatically included in the highest reward levels)
  • 2nd Day Air shipping, 3 Day Air shipping, Overnight shipping.

If your reward is shipping from Hong Kong:

We have arranged the transportation from the Xeric factory in Shenzhen to the distribution center in Hong Kong. Once the truck reaches Hong Kong, the watches and straps will be unloaded and inventoried. We expect to begin fulfilling individual customer orders one week from today. We will ship a few hundred orders per day, so it will likely take us up to three weeks to pack and ship everyone’s individual rewards. You will receive an email from Xeric with a tracking link when your reward has been packed up and is ready to ship to you.

The test shipment we sent to our office with DHL eCommerce just arrived today from Hong Kong to California, which is great! It took about three weeks, which is longer than normal. So, once your order ships, please allow at least a month for delivery. We will be using DHL eCommerce unless this shipping option isn't available for your country.

If you need to change your shipping address, please email your backer number and your new shipping address to [email protected]. Once your reward has been shipped, we won’t be able to change it anymore.

If your reward is shipping from California (if it contains one or more of the items from the list above):

The ocean liner transporting the thousands of watches from our factory to our California distribution center is on the way! The freight company has estimated that it will reach the port in Oakland, California June 4th. Then the incoming shipment will have to be unloaded and cleared by US border customs, which could take up to two weeks. We have done everything possible in advance to make importing this commercial shipment as smooth as possible. However, due to the impact of COVID-19 and backlogged imports, we expect a slower journey in the final few miles between the port of Oakland and our distribution center in the Bay Area. It could take several weeks due to a reduction in longshoremen and incoming truckers to get the product from the port to the warehouse--we expect they'll arrive at our distribution center at the end of June.

Our distribution warehouse in California is standing by to receive the inventory as soon as it gets there and begin preparing individual rewards. We will post another update when the watches are in the California warehouse so that you know to begin looking for that tracking notification in your inbox!

If you need to change your shipping address, please email your backer number and your new shipping address to [email protected]. Once your reward has been shipped, we won’t be able to change it anymore.

Shipping update
almost 4 years ago – Thu, May 07, 2020 at 03:16:14 AM

Hi everyone,

We wanted to provide an update on the test shipments from Hong Kong.

HK Post Test #1 (Created March 24) Still no update since March 28.

Tracking link: https://www.trackmyshipment.co/shipment-tracking/ESHK18077427

HK POST

Quantium International Mail Test #2 (Created April 20) Still no update since April 25 "Shipment despatched to overseas".

QUANTIUM

***DHL eCommerce Parcel Direct Test #3 (Created April 21) Updated today May 6th with an outbound flight from HK. This is the most promising one so far and from the comments section we saw DHL mentioned quite a few times as the preferred carrier.

DHL ECOMMERCE

SF Express E-Parcel Test #4 (Created April 25th). It took SF Express 10 days just to pick up the shipment in HK. Update on May 5th shows it's in the HK distribution center. No outbound update from HK yet.

SF EXPRESS

Hong Post services to most of the world are still suspended, but there are a couple countries where SpeedPost is available. We're hopeful that at least one of the test shipments will arrive at our California office within the next 5-10 days. We encourage you to follow along with the tracking links above.

We've informed our factory in Shenzhen to prepare the inventory transfer so that our HK warehouse has time to check it in before preparing to pick and pack the orders. With the pre-COVID 19 shipment in January, they took 3 business days to check everything in. We anticipate with the limited staffing that it could take double that amount of time so we want to get the watches there next week so by the time the test order arrives here and the shipping carrier is chosen that the HK warehouse will be ready to go.

DUTIES

There was some confusion with the wording of our last update about increased duties/taxes if DHL, Fedex or UPS are used. It's not that you will be charged 'more'. It's just guaranteed that you will be charged the correct taxes for the country you live in. Most countries' postal systems don't have the manpower to evaluate every shipment for duties owed so sometimes packages make it through without any duties being imposed. DHL, Fedex, and UPS charge brokerage fees for processing your duties on your behalf which increases the total duties/fees due before your package can be released to you. We hope this clears up some of the confusion. We apologize that it wasn't more clear in update #22.

IMPORTING REWARDS

Over the next couple weeks as we prepare to start shipping rewards again, we will be exporting them from BackerKit and importing into our order management system. During this time, you will receive an email from us saying "Order KS-NASA-XXXXX confirmed" and the content of the email will have your shipping address and items selected during the survey. This means your reward has been imported into the system and should be shipping out over the next 2-6 weeks depending on how quickly the HK and US warehouses can pick and pack the orders. Our system will email you a tracking number once the shipping label has been created. The shipping label is created so the order can be picked and packed. You'll start seeing tracking updates once the package is picked up by the carrier and moves through their system.

PHOTO CONTEST

Just a heads up that we may extend the deadline on the contest if more shipping delays occur. We want every backer to have the opportunity to win $250 for the colorway they received.

Thanks again for your patience. We hope you and your families are safe and healthy.

We will send another update shortly after receiving the test shipments and when fulfillment restarts.

Thanks
